Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a testament to human ingenuity in the battle against water. The 19 historic windmills, built around 1740, symbolize the Dutch struggle against water and are an integral part of our cultural heritage. Once used to pump water out of the polders, these mills now stand as silent witnesses to an era when wind power was the primary energy source.
